Patti Becker is President and Founder of Becker Associates LLC. Becker Associates creates and licenses proprietary products and properties, builds brands, and develops global licensing programs for children’s consumer products. We’re recognized for the evergreen products we’ve developed or licensed, including: Gumby and Pokey toys, Barrel of Monkeys, the Disappearing Magic Baby Bottle, Nerf Ping Pong, Othello and Battle Dome. Becker’s background in the Toy Industry and work with children make her uniquely qualified as a Marketing Consultant and Licensing Agent. Becker received an MBA in marketing (Stern Business School, NYU), a BA in developmental child psychology and education (Tufts), and has a formal background in art.
Becker began her career in the Toy Industry with Knickerbocker Toy Co., and subsequently worked for Amtoy, A Division of American Greetings and Anjar Co. She has taught children from preschool through college and consulted, spoken and written on many issues relating to the Youth Market, the Licensing Industry, Developing and Marketing New Products, and College Admissions. Prior to founding Becker Associates LLC, Patti was Director of the Stamford Inter-District Summer School Program with 277 students and a staff of 37, and the Assistant Director of The Children’s Community, an innovative early childhood program encompassing a 40% homeless population, where she secured their first national grant. One of Becker’s proudest accomplishments was establishing the first Play Therapy Clinics at Massachusetts General and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospitals.
Becker is a Charter Member of the Antique Game Collectors Association (now AGPA), a member of the Toy Industry Association (TIA), Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association (LIMA), and Tufts Alumni Association Program (TAAP). She’s also on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, CT, and President of the Board of Directors of Women in Toys (WIT). Under Patti’s leadership, WIT has seen explosive growth in more than ten countries on five continents, and membership has tripled. Patti is happily married and has three wonderful children.
